Kids Lessons: 1 to 1.25 hours long. 2 instructors

 

   Surfing comes really easy to young kids. They have dexterity, flexability and explosiveness, not to mention they are a lot lighter.
   For smaller kids (usually under 9 years old but it depends), we will have 2 instructors for the lesson. One instructor will push the student into the wave and one will receive them close to the beach. When a surfboard is in very shallow water, or caught in the foam of the wave it can do unexpected things. Having an instructor on the inside is necessary to control the board. Also the student will not have to pickup a big heavy board. He/she will be pushed back to the lineup and placed into another wave.  The lesson is a very fun experience that familiarized the student with waves and the ocean.  We find that the younger students get tired after about an hour. This leads to loss of focus, improper technique and unsafe maneuvers. This is why our kids lessons are 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
