Pedro's Surf Shop is owned and operated by friends Pedro Cruz and Richard Lyons. Who shared a passion for surfing and a dream of opening a surf shop.

 

Pedro is a true local, raised on the beach in Playa Tamarindo.

 

Pedro's family first came to Tamarindo in early 1970s, when Tamarindo was a sleepy fishing village populated by a few families. Pedro's father, Don Pedro, has fished Tamarindo since arriving. An export on the best fishing spot, Pedro runs fishing tours with the best price in town.

 

Pedro's mother Angela and sister Tedy, ran the famous restaurant "Pedro's" on the beach in Tamarindo. The restaurant has now moved to Brasilito. The restaurant is supplied by fish caught daily by Don Pedro. You can still find fresh fish behind "Pedro's Restaurant" on the beach.

 

Pedro has surfed and fished his entire life. He has won many contests in Costa Rica and has competed internationally around Central America, The United States and Ecuador. A former National Champion, Pedro now uses his vast knowledge and experience to teach the next generation of competitive surfers. 

 

Pedro's Surf Shop is committed to helping the youth of Costa Rica the community stay in the water.
